With the help of a Titan Security Europe example, this blog post will discuss how important even the smallest security tasks are.
We often talk about our ongoing security jobs, returning clients, or larger-scale security jobs, such as security for events.
However, this is not everything we offer, nor is every security need ongoing or large.
There are instances in which a small one-off job is needed, and while there is a chance of the client returning, it would likely be for a similarly small job.
However, for Titan Security Europe, no job is too big or too small; if you need security, we will provide it, regardless of what the job is.
The Client
An example of one of these small yet important one-off security jobs occurred recently.
Titan Security Europe was approached by a client in charge of organising a group of German bikers who were biking all the way from Germany to Scotland. As this was a long journey, they were due to stop over in a hotel in Edinburgh for the night before continuing on with their quest.
The Problem
This was an annual adventure for this group of bikers. Unfortunately, they had experienced issues in the past with bikes becoming damaged or stolen when left overnight while the bikers slept.
Vehicle theft and damage is a monumental issue within the hotel industry, as a lot of the surveillance within hotels only covers what is within the hotel, and not the surrounding perimeters, such as the car parks.
Considering that they had had this issue in the past and did not feel that they could rely on the hotel having CCTV that expanded into the car park, the client approached Titan Security Europe to ask if we could be of any aid in this situation.
Our Solution
With a limited CCTV system, the only effective solution we could provide was static guarding.
We placed a couple of our security guards in the car park, and they remained there overnight. They patrolled around the area of the car park in which the bikes were kept, while also keeping an eye on the rest of the area.
Anyone who entered or left the car park throughout the night was watched to ensure that they were just heading to or from their own vehicle, and not for the bikes themselves. The presence of the guards themselves acted as a deterrent to potential thefts and damages.
The Outcome
The next morning, the bikes were exactly as the bikers had left them.
This was the first time in a few years that the bikers had been able to leave their bikes in a public place while they slept without incident, so the client was extremely pleased with our service.
This was a small, one-off job—simple static guarding in one location for one single night—however, it provided our client with much-needed peace of mind and security and was as important as our higher-scale security jobs.
