The Assignment
A UK railway company was running a coastal steam train tour that took in 12 stations. Included in the tour was a viewing of a famous steam train. The tour was available for six weeks and had a lot of interest from tourists.
Concerned about potential security incidents, the railway company approached us for help. They requested 24-hour cover for the famous steam train and security guards at each of the 12 stations
The client requested the following:
The solutions
- Two guards at each of the twelve stations plus a supervisor for 12-hour shifts, at set dates depending on when the tour was happening.
- Two static guards to provide 24-hour protection for the famous steam train.
The guards at the stations were expected to do the following:
- Provide crowd control as people get off and on trains.
- Help with any luggage if necessary.
- Assist disabled attendees.
- Act as a first aid responder
- Assist the public by answering questions and giving directions
The outcome
The event season ran without incident, and our security services were well-received. The clients were happy with the service provided and will be reaching out the next time security is needed.
